You’ll also love spending time at the famed beaches with their crystal clear water and beautiful white sand. Go for a swim, hunt for seashells, or enjoy an ice cream cone as you sunbathe. History buff? There’s plenty for you to see at Myrtle Beach as well. For many years, the area was a major naval hub. Just a couple of blocks from the ocean, Lakewood Camping Resort is an excellent option to camp in your RV. The expansive park has about 1,300 campsites available to guests and options for beachfront as well as lakefront camping. All of your needs will be met with full hookup access, Wi-Fi, cable TV, bathhouses, laundry, a propane station, and a camp store. Exciting entertainment at the park includes a full-sized water park, mini golf, boat access, and bike rentals.
If you are looking to stay right on a golf course, the Barefoot RV Resort is the ticket. To play a round, you can simply walk to the clubhouse and have access to four different courses—each with its own unique challenges. For camping, your RV site will have full hookups and close access to many locations including restaurants, grocery stores, and the beach. The park encourages guests to bring or rent golf carts to easily access all of the amenities in the immediate area.
This 310-acre campground is truly massive and has all of the amenities to match it. There are more than 3,000 sites at Ocean Lakes Family Campground; However, only 859 of them are short-term rental sites for camping whereas the rest are annual leases. All RV campsites have full hookups with 50-amp electrical, cable TV, Wi-Fi, concrete pads, and a picnic table.
In addition to more than one mile of shoreline belonging to the park, there are several activities for guests including a full-size waterpark, game center, mini golf, recreation center, bike rental, and more. There are also multiple dining facilities on site. And with an array of stores and shops, it really is kind of its own little stand-alone community.

Myrtle Beach has a staggering number of dining options. Honestly, you could just go walking around aimlessly and find something great. If you stick to the oceanfront for the views, you’ll mostly find upscale seafood places and grills. If you would like to peruse a large concentration of different restaurants, head a little inland to the Broadway at the Beach complex. Here, you’ll find Mexican, burgers, Japanese, pizza, seafood, American, and more.
We’re not really sure why you would dine outside of Myrtle Beach with its incredible variety of options, but there are plenty of options along the coast in either direction. To the north, there are multiple seafood options; Mexican and American cafes are just across the North Carolina border in Calabash. To the south, Surfside Beach also has plenty of seafood, Italian, and American cafes, sports bars, sushi, and grills.
No matter where you stay, the excitement and nonstop action at Myrtle Beach is a great way to shake up the usual RV camping trip.
