RV Protection For Owners and Renters

All RV renters are required to pick one of three insurance packages during checkout. These policies offer liability protection and cover physical damage to the rented RV due to covered accidents. This also includes trips where the RV might be delivered or stationary for the trip. Coverage limits, costs, and deductibles vary based on the year and class of the RV rented and the chosen insurance package.

The Better Insurance Package will be automatically included when booking a trip. Renters will have the option to choose a different package during checkout. 

All Good Sam RV Rentals packages include:

  • Full comp & collision protection based on the value of the RV
  • 24/7 roadside assistance 
  • State statutory minimum liability for the renter
  • Up to $1M in owner liability coverage
  • Up to $10,000 third-party campsite liability coverage
  • Coverage for lost keys

Renters are covered in all 50 states and Canada but cannot enter Mexico at any time.

Renters are required to choose from three insurance packages during checkout. These packages vary based on price, coverage, and deductible based on the year and class of your RV. 

 

Personal Effects Coverage

This protection coverage will pay for the replacement cost of personal effects owned by the "RV Renter" and any of his or her guests if they are lost, stolen, or damaged during the "Rental Period" if chosen. Coverage shall be limited to $5,000 except when elected to increase this coverage to either $10,000 or $20,000 as evidenced in the "Good Sam RV Rentals Platform" reservation system. Personal effects include, but are not limited to, clothing, electronics, jewelry, food, camping equipment, and bicycles. Jewelry "loss" is limited to $1,500. Pursuant to review and discretion, all personal effects not supported by receipts or other ownership documentation or intentionally misplaced or damaged are excluded. This coverage is subject to a $150 deductible.

Windshield Protection Coverage

Windshield protection coverage will cover the cost for any windshield damage sustained by an RV during the "Rental Period". This is a zero-dollar deductible policy that can be added to towables for $8.00 per day or motorized for $12.00 per day. This protection only applies to windshields, not windows. Before and after photos must be taken and submitted when filing a claim or the claim could be denied.

Interior Protection Insurance

Interior Protection is coverage available to be used for damage that may occur during your rental. This coverage will cover the repair or replacement of items that are not covered in our standard Insurance Protection Packages.

Some of these include:
- Damaged interior doors, cabinets, walls, etc.
- Furniture damage
- Carpet
- Window treatments
